You can customize the Windows logon screen that displays when you boot your computer so that your company's logo appears in place of the manufacturer's splash screen or Windows logon screen. Group policy, a native feature in Windows, gives you the ability to define the background image used for the logon screen. These steps also can be applied to group policy for computers on a network domain.
Click "Start" and type "group policy" (without quotes) in the search box. Click on "Edit group policy" from the results.
Navigate to "Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | System | Logon." Use the arrows to the left of these items to expand them.
Right-click "Always use custom logon background" in the Logon section. Click "Edit" to change the settings for this entry. Click "Enabled" at the top left of the window that opens, and then click "OK."
Click "Start," select "Computer" and browse to C:\Windows\System32\oobe.
Click "New folder" in the toolbar and name the folder "info." Double-click the folder you just created and click "New folder" again. Rename this folder "backgrounds" and open it.
Copy your company's logo as a JPEG image file into the "backgrounds" folder. Name the logo file "backgroundDefault" without the quotes. Note that the size of this JPEG file cannot exceed 256KB.
Restart the computer. Your company logo will display in the background of the logon window.
