Mavericks Mini theme brings best OS X Mavericks features to the iPhone

Alongside a radical change to iOS, Apple also announced OS X Mavericks, the next version of Mac OS X at this year’s WWDC. The release, currently in beta, adds a number of features like Finder tabs, file tagging, and enhanced multiple display support.

A new jailbreak theme called “Mavericks Mini” brings a number of these new features to the iPhone, and does a great job at mimicking the OS X look on iOS.
Here’s a list of features:
  • Finder Windows
finder windows
  • Launchpad (funny, since Launchpad itself was inspired by the iOS home screen)

  • App tagging

To install Mavericks Mini on your iPhone you’ll need to jailbreak, and have Dreamboard and iFile installed. The theme is available as two separate versions, one for the iPhone 5 and the 5th gen iPod touch, and the other for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and the 4th gen iPod touch. The two versions cost $3.5 each and are available for download from Mini Mavericks’ own website. For detailed instructions on how to install, you can see their install page(Strangely, the tweak isn’t available on Cydia, and doesn’t use Cydia Store’s payment system.)

iOS 7 Beta 4 Confirms New iPhone With Biometric Home Button And FingerPrint Sensor (source absinthejailbreak)

iOS 7 Beta 4 Confirms New iPhone With Biometric Home Button And FingerPrint Sensor - iPhone 5S and the rumored low-cost iPhone have been all we have been hearing about for these last few days. Finally though, we might have a good lead on something that we have been hearing rumors about for a long long time! The Home Button is perhaps the most vulnerable part of the iPhone, and it was hoped that it would be replaced with a capacitive fingerprint scanning button, and a new hint in iOS 7 Beta 4 may have confirmed that!

This bit of information comes from Hamza Sood(@hamzasood) who just found a new folder in the code for iOS 7 Beta 4 called “BiometricKitUI”.

Apple’s last year acquisition of AuthenTec for $365 Million had us raising eyebrows as there should be something for which Apple will make use of it! For those who are unaware, AuthenTec is a company that specializes in making fingerprint sensors and after this code got picked up by Hamza Sood, we are pretty sure that the iPhone 5S(or whatever Apple might call it’s next-gen smartphone) will use a biometric sensor.

2 new iphone coming this fall

2 New iPhone Devices Coming This September - During the last few days, we have heard about Production issues, shortage of items and God knows whatever! The rumor mill really goes haywire when an Apple product launch is looming near, and this time, it’s the same. iPhone production issues aside, a new report from iFun claims that 2 new iPhones will be coming on the 6th of September.

2 New iPhone Devices Coming This September
This report is disagrees with earlier rumors about iPhone 5S suffering from production issues. However, Apple seems to have dealt with those as a number of sources are claiming that the production for the 7th-Gen iPhone have been ramped up. Along with this flagship release, it now seems almost certain that there will be a secondary low-cost iPhone. Just yesterday, we got reports that iPhone 5 will be discontinued in favor of this budget iPhone.
iFun’s leak is certainly not something ground breaking as now, it seems almost certain that there will be a secondary low-cost iPhone release along with the flagship iPhone. Just yesterday, we got reports that iPhone 5 will be discontinued in favor of this budget iPhone. The only addition made by iFun is that they have proposed a possible release date for this big product launch by Apple, September 6.

Apple Store app to be updated this Tuesday with an all-new design, and free iTunes content

apple store new app
As a part of Tim Cook’s push to get more people to buy Apple products through its retail stores, the Apple Store app would be updated with an all new design, in line with other apps like the iTunes Store, the App Store and the iBooks Store.
The update will also let users download iTunes content, that otherwise costs money, for free from Apple’s three digital content stores.
Apple, internally, positions this as a way to boost content sales as this new feature is designed to raise awareness about Apps, iTunes, and iBooks content.
Sources say that the new app update is also designed to go hand-in-hand with a new initiative in Apple Stores. When a new iOS Device is sold, Apple employees will be encouraged to install the new Apple Store app on the newly purchased device.
In turn, more customers will be exposed to Apple’s direct sales channels.
By encouraging customers to buy through channels controlled by Apple, the company can guarantee that the customer experience is up to a certain standard, and increase the chances of a return buyer.

Report claims Apple to launch iPhone 5S with 4.3-inch display, to delay launch until the end of the year

Here’s the crazy rumor of the day.Bloomberg relays a new report from Taiwan’s Commercial Times, which claims that the launch of the next generation iPhone, unofficially dubbed iPhone 5S, will be delayed to the end of this year as Apple has decided to increase the size of the screen from 4-inches to 4.3-inches.
Bloomberg reports:
Apple Inc. (AAPL) may delay the introduction of the iPhone 5S until the end of the year after the design was changed to feature a bigger 4.3-inch retina display screen, the Commercial Times reported.
The company previously scheduled the release for September or October, the Taiwanese newspaper reported, citing unidentified people in the semiconductor industry. Takashi Takebayashi, a spokesman for Apple in Tokyo, wasn’t immediately available to comment to Bloomberg News.
Apple increased the size of the screen from 3.5-inches to 4-inches just last year with the launch of iPhone 5, so it seems highly unlikely that Apple will again increase the size of the screen this year.
There have been rumors that Apple is working on an iPhone with a larger screen (4.8 to 5-inch screen), but that will be a different model, and is rumored to be launched sometime next year.
iPhone 5S is widely expected to feature the same design as the iPhone 5 and come with improved internals such as 12-megapixel camera, faster A-series chip. It is expected to be launched around the September timeframe.
We would love to see Apple launch a 4.3-inch iPhone, but we doubt that will happen anytime soon, especially after telling us why the taller 4-inch display is perfect few months back.
