When the iPhone 5 arrived in September last year, Chinese clones also hit the market at almost the same time. It seems to be a repeat of the same story with the rumoured iPhone 5C.
GooPhone that had made news with the iPhone 5 clone is now all set with its iPhone 5C copy called the Goophone 5C. They had launched a Goophone 5S variant back in March this year.
To be available from September, the Android Goophone 5C (also mentioned as Goophone i5C at some places) is priced at $99 and comes with a 4-inch screen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and an 8 megapixel rear camera.
"Apple's lax security over the past few years hasn't done them any favours," observes the post on gizchina.com reporting the clone.
With Goophone as the brand name, it is unlikely that the company would find acceptance in the market.
