Apple to begin taking orders for iPhone 5s at 12:01 AM Pacific Time on September 20

Apple and its carrier partners started accepting pre-orders for the colorful iPhone 5c earlier today. However, as you probably know by now, Apple didn’t start taking pre-orders for the next generation iPhone 5s.

It has now been confirmed that Apple will start accepting orders for iPhone 5s on September 20, the day of the launch at 12:01 am Pacific Time, according toMacRumors.
In an email sent out to Apple customers today promoting the start of iPhone 5c pre-orders, the company also confirmed that orders for the iPhone 5s will similarly go live at 12:01 AM Pacific Time on September 20. (In an apparent error, the company’s email says Pacific Standard Time, but Daylight Saving Time remains in effect until early November.)

So if you want to buy an iPhone 5s, you will be able to place an order on Apple Online Store or your carrier’s website at 12:01 a.m PT on September 20. However, it will mean that you will get it only in the following week due to the time it takes to ship the device. So if you want to get the iPhone 5s on the day of the launch i.e. on September 20, you will have to line up either outside Apple’s Retail Store, your carrier’s retail store or Apple Authorized resellers’  store like Walmart, Best Buy etc.
The retail stores are expected to be open at 8:00 am local time on September 20. But based on theinterest we’re seeing for the new iPhone 5s (and lack of it for iPhone 5c), we expect the lines to be very long, so you will have to line up very early to be able to get your prefer iPhone 5s model. It also looks like Apple is having production problems with iPhone 5s, which is why it is not taking pre-orders for its flagship device.
