How to take care of nails or What to do if your nails are breaking and cracking


Nails require special care in all seasons and especially in spring. If they not shining or strong as much as you would like. Maybe you feel that long and beautiful nails are not for you at all. No worries! I am going to guide you on how to strengthen the nails and help them be healthy.
In fact, caring for the nails is not difficult at all. Most importantly, do not be lazy and spend time caring for your nails and skin of the hands, eat properly and systematically feed the nails with healthy substances.
For more ideas and techniques to keep you nails strong, here are some useful recipes of nail masks, ointments and baths.

Sea Salt Bath

Ingredients:
  • 0.5 l of warm water
  • 1 tbsp. of sea salt (no slides)
Dissolve one teaspoon of sea salt in the water (It is better if you use salt without aromatic additives). Dip your fingers in the water and wait for about 20 minutes. Then wipe your hands dry and with massage motions apply oil based hand cream, paying particular attention to the nails and cuticles. In order to achieve visible results, repeat the procedure every day for ten days, and then take a break for a month.

Nail Strengthening Ointment with Wax

Ingredients:
  • 4g of beeswax
  • Water
  • 1 cooked egg
  • Peach oil
Melt four grams of beeswax in water and set that aside. Mash the boiled egg yolk with a fork and mix it with wax. Gradually add in peach oil until it turns into thick cream. Apply the mixture to your nails every evening for 10 days.

Nail Strengthening Mask with Lemon Juice and Olive Oil

Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp. of olive oil
  • Some lemon juice
You need to heat one tablespoon of olive oil (until it is warm) on water steam and add in a few drops of lemon juice. After the mixture is ready, apply it gently to your nails by massage motions. Once done, put on cotton gloves. Leave the mask for a night and spend the procedure 1-2 times a week.

Gelatin Bath for Weak Nails

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of water
  • 0.5 tbsp. of gelatin
What you need to do is to dissolve the gelatin in a cup of boiling water and wait until the mixture cools. Once it is cool, dip your nails in the water for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this bath 2-3 times a week.

Mask to Restore Healthy Nail Color

Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. of glycerin
  • 3 tbsps. of rose water (a solution containing components of essential oil of rose)
To restore the natural color of the nails rub them with the following mask every day: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and gently ally the mixture to your nails. Repeat it for 10 days or until the result is visible.

Mask Made of Natural Wax for Nail Treatment

Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsps. of natural wax
  • Water
Melt natural wax in the water and dip your fingertips into the mixture. Make sure that your nails are well covered, then immediately dip your fingertips into cold water. Fingers will be covered with a layer of wax, which must be left overnight, so make sure to put on cotton gloves. Repeat this twice a week for three weeks.

Iodine Mask for Nails

Iodine prevents delamination and strengthens the nails. Apply some iodine to your nails with a brush before going to bed. The nails will become yellow, but don’t worry: iodine absorbs, so your nails will restore their usual color before the morning.

Broth for Nourishing and Strengthening the Nails

Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsps. of water
  • Chamomile
  • St. John’s wort
  • Burdock roots
Pour 2 tbsps. of boiled water on the mixture of chamomile, St. John's wort, and burdock roots. Leave the broth a while, and then dip your fingertips into it leaving for 5 minutes. Use this broth once a week.

Lemon Juice to Strengthen the Nails

Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp of lemon juice
  • Salt
Squeeze about one tablespoon of lemon juice in a saucer and add a couple pinches of salt. Mix ingredients well and apply the mixture on nails with a brush. Wait for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Berries for Nails

For this procedure, you can use any type of berries: currants, cranberries, loganberries, etc. Take a berry and rub its juice on your nails and skin around.
And the last thing to keep in mind: don’t stress about your nails and in general. Stress is good neither for nails nor for anything else. Eat a lot of vegetables including greens that contain silica and drink a lot of milk as it contains calcium.
