As expected, AT&T has just launched its new “All in One” prepaid brand calledAio Wireless.
The prepaid service will be available only in Houston, Orlando and Tampa initially. Aio  (pronounced “A-O”) expects to rollout the service in multiple markets across the U.S over the next year.
From the press release:
“We talked with no-annual-contract customers and created our service around what they want.  They want simple, easy plan choices with unlimited offers; first-class service at affordable prices; great devices; nationwide voice and data coverage; and no annual contracts. Today’s wireless customers don’t want to compromise,” said Jennifer Van Buskirk , president of Aio Wireless. “We are set up to win over value-conscious customers who are increasingly moving towards smartphones and mobile broadband.”
Aio is offering two no-contract plans to smartphone customers. The “Aio Smart” plan is available for $55 per month, which offers unlimited talk, text and data, with a soft cap of 2GB. The ”Aio Pro” plan is available for $70 per month, which offers unlimited talk, text and data, with a soft cap of 7GB. Interestingly, Aio has mentioned that it will offer 4G download speeds of up to 4Mbs per second, which indicates that it won’t be supporting LTE and will be limited only to HSPA+ networks. Aio is also offering a $40 per month “Aio Basic” plan, which offers unlimited talk, text and data, with a soft cap of 250, but it is only available with feature phones.
Aio is also offering Apple’s iPhone at unsubsidized prices with the prepaid plans, with the iPhone 5 starting at $649.99.
